Beppu Hot Spring Festival (1st - 4th April)

The locals celebrate this festival in thanksgiving for Beppu's abundant hot springs. It is Beppu's grandest festival, filled with events such as the Hot Spring Carnival, a folk dance session, Festival Paradise and hot water purification rituals.

You can visit many small onsens free of charge during the festival!

Ogiyama Fire Festival (2nd April)

During the Ogiyama Fire Festival in spring, the entire mountainside is set aflame, creating a nocturnal dream world.
